Discounting Vouchers: Vendor and Company

This page details the process of applying both Vendor and Company Discounts. A “Vendor” discount is when the vendor (helicopter etc.) authorizes a discount. A “Company” discount is when MCS management authorizes discounting to match and online price, competitor etc. It comes out of the commission the vendor pays MCS, so the agents new commission will be based on the discount amount. Client notes must show who authorized vendor or company discount.

Process:

Discounting

  1. When issuing a voucher a Vendor discount can be applied if it has been allowed for introductory offers and other such cases. These discounts originate from the Vendor directly. When the discounting feature has been enabled, a User will be given access to the ‘Vend Disc. %’ and ‘Vend Disc $’ fields on Vouchers.
  2. A Company discount can be applied if the discount is originating directly from Maui Concierge Service. Management approval is necessary to apply a company discount.

The Disc. % field will allow a User to enter a certain percentage off (i.e. 20% off)

The Disc. $ field will allow a User to enter a certain dollar amount off (i.e.$10.00 off). When using the $ amount, the discount will be multiplied by the number of passengers so be aware that if it is a $10.00 off total and there are two passengers, you would add $5.00. For the percentage discount, that is not needed, just put in the percentage amount that needs to be discounted.

  • To apply a Vendor or Company discount:
    • Click within the desired field (Disc. %’ or Disc $’) Type in the desired discount amount
    • Press enter and confirm that it has been applied and is reflected in the new Total on the voucher

When a voucher has a “vendor” discount, the amount will show on the printed voucher.

When a voucher has a “company” discount, the amount will show on the printed voucher BUT THE COMMISSION WILL BE ZEROED OUT.

You must send an Aldesk email to the manager to build back in your commission.

There are some vendors that do not allow company discounts, those vendors at this time are Old Lahaina Luau, Feast at Lele and Atlantis Submarine.
